The Inspectorate of Quang Ngai Province’s Department of Science and Technology inspected 21 enterprises in April 2012, discovering violations at 3 of them. The inspection team issued a sanctioning decision with the total fine amount of 15 million VND.
Inspection of 10 enterprises including producers of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) such as Pet gas, Petrolimex gas, VT gas, SP-Sai Gon Petro, found violations related to contents quantity indicated on label and other violations such as failure to apply a quality control system as required (02 LPG packaging facilities), failure to keep LPG products’ quality and packaging staff’s documents (02 facilities), and failure to provide staff’s certificate of training (04 facilities). The inspection team examined 80 measuring instruments including vehicle weighing scales, pressure meters, LPG meters, and found 04 non-certified pressure meters. The team also examined 09 containers for weight accuracy, discovering 06 containers not meeting requirements, i.e., 05 containers of LPG and 01 container of tea.
At 11 stores selling home electrical appliances, helmets, the inspection team found that all of the products had labels in line with current regulations. However, some imported products such torch, electric rice cooker, iron did not have Vietnamese label as required; others such as electric fan, hair dryer, water heater, PVC cables, were not certified and stamped the mark “CR” as required. All of the infringed goods were old and not sold before the QCVN 04:2009 that were to be applied to such products took effect.
The inspection team ordered a temporary suspension of all the infringed products and requested these stores to return them to the producers and importers to be certified and for their labels to be corrected according to related regulations. Administrative sanctions were imposed on the three violating stores with the fine of 15 million VND.
